At Complete Dental, your comfort is our highest priority. We know that many people have a deep fear of the dentist and we want to make sure your experience is worry-free. Because of this, we offer two different types of sedation that you’re free to request during your dental procedures.
Laughing gas is one of the most common types of sedation dentistry used today. This gas is combined with oxygen and inhaled through a mask throughout the procedure.
Laughing gas is an ideal form of sedation, as your dentist can control your sedation levels throughout the process and it wears off almost immediately once the procedure is over. Patients who opt for laughing gas are able to drive themselves home after their procedure.
Moderate conscious sedation is a type of sedation in which you are administered a drug that keeps you conscious for the entire procedure, although you will not remember it afterwards.
This type of sedation ensures that you are awake and able to respond to stimuli throughout the process, but you won’t feel any pain or anxiety. Depending on the level of sedation, you may need to be driven home by a responsible adult after your procedure is over.
If you have any questions about sedation dentistry, give our office a call to talk to one of our helpful staff members today. We have three convenient locations in Leland, Shallotte, and Wilmington, NC.
